Editorial policy

Evidence before volume.

GEN publishes to help a reader make a decision, not to manufacture search inventory.

Claims and sources

Material names, numbers, dates, regulations, products, relationships, and outcomes require a source. Provider marketing supports a provider-supplied claim; it does not become independent verification.

News and analysis

News states what happened and distinguishes the event date, announcement date, and GEN publication date. Analysis separates sourced fact, inference, estimate, opinion, and sponsored material.

AI assistance

AI may help organize research, outline, transcribe, translate drafts, and suggest metadata. It cannot act as the source of truth or publish autonomously. People approve sources, claims, disclosures, and final publication.

Regulatory and legal material

Jurisdictional, regulatory, licensing, financial, or responsible-gambling claims require appropriate source and specialist review. GEN content is not legal advice.

Corrections

Material corrections are made promptly and recorded visibly. Minor spelling or formatting changes do not rewrite a page's factual update date.
